Admissions and Tuition
Children's Cooperative Playschool Admissions
The Children's Co-op considers all children and families equally for admission, regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity, family structure, or social and economic background. While doing this, we also seek to admit families that are in harmony with the philosophy of the school and are seeking the experiences offered as members of a cooperative. We consider how each child might benefit from our school, as well as what each child and parent can contribute to the school community.
An important step in the admissions process is to visit the school with your child. Visiting allows you to meet the teachers and the director, see the school in operation and address questions. Tours are offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. (or by appointment). To schedule a tour email email@example.com. (If your child does not come on this initial visit, we would like you to make another appointment to visit us!)
If you do not live in the area but would still like to be considered for admission to the Playschool, please call our director at (919) 403-0121 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive more information. Even though you cannot visit our school in person, we want to be able to share information and learn more about your child and family.
If you would like to be considered for admission, complete the application form and send with your $25 non-refundable application fee.
The Children's Cooperative Playschool accepts applications year round. If you are interested in being placed on the waiting list for the current school year, please contact us to arrange a tour and fill out the application. We cannot place a family on the waiting list without a completed application and a paid application fee. You will be contacted with the next steps should a space become available. If you are applying for the 2020-2021 school year, please plan to attend our annual Open House and contact us to arrange a tour.
1/17/20: Re-enrollment for current students and enrollment for their eligible siblings. We generally have a much clearer idea of our space availability after this date.
1/25/20: Open House for families applying for the 2017-2018 school year, 10:30am until 12pm.
2/1/20: Applications submitted by this date will be considered first. Applications received after this date will be added to the waiting list and considered based on space availability
Late January/Early February – notification of admission
Notification of admission or waiting list placement generally occurs via email. Once offered admission, we ask that you confirm your acceptance of the space within one week by submitting an Enrollment Agreement form, a one-time, non-refundable enrollment fee of $100, and the annual supply fee.
Tuition and Fees
We require the following fees prior to your child attending the Playschool:
A $25 non-refundable application fee for each child's application.
A $100 non-refundable one-time enrollment fee payable upon your child’s acceptance to hold their space.
A refundable deposit equal to one month’s tuition.
A non-refundable annual supply fee determined by multiplying the number of days per week the child attends the Playschool by $50 (e.g. a child who attends three days per week pays a $150/annual fee).
A non-refundable annual cleaning fee of $71 per family.
Monthly tuition rates for the 2019-2020 academic year are as follows:
Two Year olds: Sunbeams, Dewdrops, and Ladybugs
2 days a week: $233
3 days a week: $349
4 days a week: $466
Three year olds and Four year olds: Rainbows and Dragonflies
2 days a week: $230
3 days a week: $346
4 days a week: $461
5 days a week: $576
Four and Five Year olds: Wildflowers
2 days a week: $340
3 days a week: $451
4 days a week: $428
5 days a week: $565
*Please note that our tuition reflects the fact that our traditional school day runs 9-1 and our school year is on average 2 1/2 weeks longer than other traditional preschool programs.
