Hi Wildflower Families --
What an amazing week at the Co-Op!!! I am so super-proud of your children. They have transitioned to our new location so nicely, and we are back to our comfortable routines. We are getting used to the new room and the new playground is terrific. We shared valentines and talked about jungle animals. We painted a HUGE garden snake, spotted girraffes, made tiger and leopard masks. We also read If I were a Jungle Animal and The Temper Tantrum Book. We learned ASL for valentine, ‘I love you,’ monkey, and tiger. Plus, we thought of many words that begin with the letter ‘Vv’ -- “Valentine,” “vowel” “vital,” “vitamins,” and others. We learned ASL for “tiger,” “monkey,” and “snake,” and “zoo.”
This week -- continuing our unit on animals -- we’ll talk about reptiles. We’ll learn that reptiles are cold-blooded and that they lay eggs and have scales, and then we’ll explore the subject a bit more through fun art projects such as bubble wrap chameleons, bowl turtles, and a clay snakes.
And wow! -- we’re nearing the end of the alphabet! Our letter this week is ‘Ww.’ The Wildflowers will read A Color of His Own and act out Shel Silverstein’s poem,Boa Constrictor, which is really silly and fun. I look forward to seeing you all this week!
Lastly, thank you all for your support and many offers to help. We seem to be managing the new location well, but are anticipating the need for help when we have to pack up the old school. Kinsey will keep you informed about when that will be.
As always, thank you for sharing your children with me --
