hello everyone! we had a great first week in our new building! the kids are loving the classroom...they've been so busy that a lot of them haven't wanted to stop playing to come to the art table! the new playground is a huge hit, especially now that a lot of our playground toys have migrated from the old school. it is a time of transition for all of us, but i have been thrilled with how easily and happily the sunbeams have adjusted.

last week we talked about jungle animals. we made tigers, snakes, drums...and this week we are going to be talking about reptiles. we will make turtles, clothespin crocodile magnets, and colorful chameleons. we will also continue to work on some color activities...we have been having lots of fun doing color sorting games at story time.

tomorrow i will be leaving early to take my daughter callie to the doctor. as some of you know she has a condition that causes her to develop kidney stones and the last several months have been especially hard for her and have caused me to miss work a number of times. i appreciate your patience. i am anxious---for personal and professional reasons!--to get her feeling better.

also, the extra days calendar is on top of the brown bookcase to the left of the door in the classroom. please note that there are several openings in march--thiago will be out of town. i know many of you are anxious to sign up for extra days so please write your child's name in on the days you want.
