Extra Fun

Coop Parents,

The much anticipated first day of "Extra Fun" is on Monday, September 10th! For those families new to the coop or just to the teacher supervised “Extra Fun” activities; it's really a great opportunity for your child as well as you. The children enjoy art projects, cooking projects, science experiments, outdoor fun and the opportunity to get to know another teacher better or play in a classroom that is new to them and you get more time to yourself to accomplish something without a little helper or two along! You are guaranteed to pick up a worn out, happy and fed child that is ready for a rest:) Please keep in mind whether your child typically naps in the afternoon and whether they will indeed "last" until 3pm (2pm, for dance).

You can sign up on the calendar in the hallway on the specific date of which you need care. You are only committing to that particular day when signing up your child and you will easily see who will be supervising the activities that day as to prepare your child.

Here are a few reminders and policies to consider:

“Extra Fun” is held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3pm daily and is in no way affiliated with our preschool program. No “Extra Fun” activities are offered on Wednesdays due to our weekly staff meeting. The cost is $15/child, $25/two siblings and snack is provided. Even if your child does not stay for the entire “Extra Fun” time period, the flat fee of $15/child, $25/siblings remains the same. *Dance/Movement is a separate program with differing hours and costs: Friday, 1-2pm, $10/child

“Extra Fun” is open to all coop children. They do not have to attend school that day in order to participate. Simply bring them to the appropriate teacher for the specific day at 1pm.
Snack/Water is provided during “Extra Fun”.

*Other than the occurrence of an illness, same day cancellations are required to pay for the space.
Payment is expected at pick up time or prior to. Please pay with cash or make checks payable to the specific teacher supervising “Extra Fun”.*

Late fees apply; please pick your child up promptly at 3pm (2pm, Dance).
Although the canceling “Extra Fun” is typically uncommon, we do require a minimum number of children in order to hold the activities. The minimum number of children required to provide care is 3. However, if you need care for an appt, or any other crucial circumstance you have several options:

You can either pay the minimum of $45 yourself or if there is only one other signed up child; you can split the minimum with that family or simply ask a friend to join in on the fun that day. A common occurrence, is that children are signed up the day of and there could be many more children on the list by 10:00am. If “Extra Fun” is cancelled you will be notified by 10:00am by phone, text and/or email. Take a peek at the “Extra Fun” calendar the morning of, if your child is signed up for care; then you can speak to his or her teacher if the minimum has not yet been met.

Additionally, if you are dire need of childcare that day and your child is the only one signed up; please let your child's teacher know. It may be a possibility that something can be worked out as maybe another family has the same situation or a teacher is available to stay a bit late.
The following teachers supervise the “Extra Fun” activities on the following days:

Monday: 1-3pm
Tuesday: 1-3pm
Wednesday: No Extra Fun offered: Staff mtg
Thursday: 1-3pm

Friday: The Dance and Movement Program with Amy and Fabia
Time: 1pm-2pm
Cost: $10/child, all children, 2 and up are invited to be included in dance even if your child does not attend school that day.
