The Sunbeams are two-year-olds. Families may choose for their child to attend between two and four days per week. The ratio is five children to one teacher.
Here is an Example of Amy's weekly letter to parents:
hello everyone! hope you are having a wonderful weekend! we had a great week last week making handprint and footprint pictures, fingerpainting and making sticker pictures. this week we will be talking about our families. we will share our family collages--please get these to me if you haven't already--and make graphs of the number of people who live in our house. we'll do spin art and dot paint and wash babies in the water table.
the sunbeams are doing an amazing job adjusting to school! they are such a fun group. please feel free to email me with any questions you might have. also, as the weather gets chillier please make sure you have weather appropriate clothes in your cubbies and make sure all jackets are labeled. thanks!
“Our family had a wonderful 5-year experience at the Children's Cooperative Playschool. Our son started in the Sunbeams at age 2 1/2, and our daughter started in the Dewdrops the following year at 18 months. To this day, they often sing many of the songs they learned at Songtime, which is a very special part of the Coop school day. They both settled in quickly, made many friends, and enjoyed every day they were there. They were more upset about being picked up than being dropped off!”
