Children’s Cooperative Playschool Admissions Policy

The Children’s Co-op considers all children and families equally for admission, regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity, family structure, or social and economic background. While doing this, we also seek to admit families that are in harmony with the philosophy of the school, including being a member of a cooperative. We consider how each child might benefit from our school, as well as what each child and parent can contribute to the school community.

Admissions Process

An important step in the admissions process is to visit the school. This can be done before or after filling out an application. Visiting allows you to meet the teachers, see the school and address your questions. It also allows us to meet you and your child and get a feel for each of you. To schedule a visit call the school at 403-0121. (If your child does not come on this initial visit, you will need to come again with them for at least half an hour).
If you would like to be considered for admission, you then complete and send in the application form with your $25 non-refundable application fee.
The next step is a follow up discussion with a representative from the school. This discussion can occur over the phone or in person and will touch on any remaining questions either you or the school might have. After we receive your application, we will contact you to set up a time to talk.

Admissions Timeline

We accept applications year round. If you are interested in being placed on the waiting list for the current school year, please come take a tour, and fill out the application. You will be contacted for the next steps if a space becomes available.

If you are applying for the following school year, come take a tour and fill out the application. Applications turned in by February 15th of the current school year will be considered first. Applications received after February will be considered based on space availability.

Families with one-year-olds will be informed about availability in February, following our Open House at the beginning of the month. Two to five year olds will be notified in the beginning of March of a space offer or wait list placement. We ask our current members to reenroll by the beginning of March, and then we will have a clear idea of how many spaces are open. On the application, parents indicate preference for the days a week they wish their child to attend Playschool. We make every attempt to accommodate these requests, but may only be able to offer you alternate days than your initial request.

Once offered a spot, we ask that you give us a decision within three weeks. In order to hold your spot, you will put down the one-time, non-refundable enrollment fee of $100.

Three year olds and young Four year olds: Rainbows and Dragonflies
2 days a week: $200
3 days a week: $300

5 days a week: $500

Four and Five Year olds: Wildflowers
2 days a week: $196

4 days a week: $390
5 days a week: $490
